HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL

First and foremost, get ready for the Second Annual Winter Holidays Night of Luminaries to take place on Sunday December 23, 2007. It’s easy…all you have to do is join your neighbors outside to help place luminaries on the curb in your area. Your area board meeting will meet you with all the luminaries ready to be placed! Look for them around 4:30 pm and join your neighbors for fun and laughs. Later, drive through the whole neighborhood and enjoy the glow. Since we actually have snow this year, dress warmly.

Belatedly, a huge ”Thank you” to the neighbors who helped with Fall Clean Up. If you remember, it actually was raining for days, but stopped in time for clean up. It was a cool start, but everyone warmed up by working. The dead pine at the south entrance was removed and many, many trees were trimmed…not with ornaments, wrong season. After all that work, the hot dogs tasted amazing and the homemade cookies were the best. Thanks again and remember Spring Clean Up will be here before you know it.

We are still looking for a representative for Area 1. You do not need to live in that area to represent them. If anyone is interested in joining the homeowner’s board, please contact Bob Theis.

Although the snow is beautiful, some items are now more visible. Remember brush piles are a violation of the city code so please remove them. See www.burnsville.org. City code…Title 7…Chapter 1…Section 2.

Winter Driving Tips from the MN Dept of Transportation

  • Slow down and stay behind the snowplows. Drivers should allow at least five care lengths between their vehicles and snowplows. The road behind the plow will be the safest place to drive.
  • Be particularly aware of black ice conditions on surfaces such as bridge decks and entrance/exit ramps.
  • Turn on headlights and turn off cruise control settings.
  • Call 511 or visit www.511mn.org to get current information on road conditions.

The Next Board Meeting will be in March 2008. The date and location will be announced later. Homeowners are welcome to attend.
