AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD:

  • Oak wilt: A notification was received that a diseased oak tree existed on common grounds following an inspection by a licensed tree inspector for the city of Burnsville. The city conducts the inspection as a service to citizens. The diseased tree must be properly removed by the deadline of January 10, 2011. Bob Theis, maintenance will be coordinating the tree removal.
  • Board Vacancy: There is one open Board position in Area 2, please consider supporting your neighborhood organization. The time commitment is minimal and you will meet some really nice neighbors. Meetings are monthly from April through October. Please call any board member if you are willing to help.
  • Night to Unite and Annual Board: Thank you to Pam and Randy Post for coordinating this annual event. There was a nice turn out despite the heat and rain shower. A Burnsville police officer and a Community service representative visited and distributed trinkets to the children. The annual meeting was also held the same evening.
    • Dues – The board voted to increase the collection costs for late payments from $10 to $20.
    • Reminder that there is one open board position.
    • City ordinances – visit www.burnsville.org to view the “Top 10” city codes. The code is intended to keep Burnsville as a clean and attractive place to live. Several of our by-laws are also included in the code.
    • A homeowner who resides along the walking path would like to know if other homeowners living along the path would be interested in putting Christmas lights on the back side of their homes or along the walking path.
    • A homeowner also brought up the topic of street lights. The installation of street lights was addressed when the streets were replaced in 1997. The installation of street lights requires the approval of the homeowners, the vote did not receive the required numbers of approvals.

CITY OF BURNSVILLE WATER RESTRICTION:

  • April 1 to September 1.
  • No midday watering from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • The odd-even watering restriction allows homeowners with addresses ending in an odd number(1, 3,5, 7, 9) to water on days that end with an odd number and those with an even number (2,4,6,8,0) to water on days that end with an even number. All addresses may water on the 31st.

CITY OF BURNSVILLE PARKING NOTICE:

  • Burnsville does not allow overnight parking on city streets from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.
